Wellness Care versus Crisis Care
Wellness Care Versus Crisis care – understand the difference

The difference between wellness care versus crisis care.  As natural healthcare becomes more and more popular in America, it is crucial to understand the difference between a wellness provider and a “sickness” provider.  While neither is right or wrong and both are necessary it is still important to know how they differ.  In today’s issue we will delve into the difference between the two.  Another important concept which goes along with it is the difference between the vitalistic and mechanistic approaches to health care.

Unfortunately even most natural health care providers practice “sickness care” and use a mechanistic approach to health care.  What this basically means is that the provider investigates the area of complaint.  Basically they chase the symptoms.  Let’s get into to an appropriate example.  If you break your leg, the orthopedic doctor will set your leg and use appropriate casting or bracing so that it heals properly.  Obviously this makes sense.  Where this model falls short is when doctors only chase symptoms.  Let’s say you go to the doctor because you suffer from chronic headaches.  Most doctors will prescribe something for your headaches.  Even a natural health care provider will recommend a natural remedy that “helps with headaches”

The Vitalistic or Wellness Approach

The problem with that is your headaches are usually a sign of chemical or mechanical stress.   The vitalistic or wellness philosophy understands that your body is a complex system.  Many of the tasks your body performs rely on other systems.  I know, it sounds confusing.  So let’s get into our headache example.  If your body chemistry is out of balance, it can lead to headaches.  What if your vascular system is out of balance?  It can lead to headaches.  If the muscles of your head, face, neck, back or shoulder are out of balance guess what?  It can lead to headaches.  So a wellness provider seeks to restore chemical and mechanical balance.  When your systems cooperate and work together in harmony and balance, will you have headaches?

Wellness helps even without symptoms

In fact a wellness doctor will help your body work better even when your body has no symptoms.  If you don’t change the oil in your car, your car won’t have any “symptoms” until it reaches the breaking point.  Your body works the same way.  Just because you don’t hurt doesn’t mean your body is functioning at 100%.  A wellness doctor is aimed at helping your body work at its best.

Would you like a better working body?   Have you been from doctor to doctor with no real answers?  If so, you can contact us one of several ways to set up a consultation. You can reach us on the web, stop by our office in Redmond, WA, or call us at 425-868-0120. Then I will personally sit down with you and talk about your suffering and how it affects your life. I will even do some preliminary testing as well as Bio Impedance Analysis (BIA). In fact did you know that both NASA and Cancer Treatment Centers of America rely on BIA? These tests help me determine if you are a good candidate for care. If you’re not, we’ll make every effort to provide the proper referral.
