Neck Pain affects Coordination and Balance.  According o research from PLOS-1, minor neck pain can affect your coordination and balance.  In fact, it can even affect the movement of your arms and legs.  Now, how in the world can some minor pain in your neck affect your entire health in such a profound way?  Well, let me explain that for you…

First of all, it’s important to remember that every signal that travels from the brain to your body has to pass through your neck.  To further complicate matters, the part of your brain that controls your movement and coordination crosses sides in the neck.  If you recall, the left side of the brain controls the right side of your body and vis. versa.  This means, at some point, the nerves, or wires, have to cross sides.  Well, this happens in the neck.

To make matters worse, sensation from your entire body is also inhibited by even the slightest neck pain.  Remember your neck is a place where all the signals have to travel to get to and from your brain.  As a result, this area of your spinal cord needs a lot of band width.  Well, let me put it another way.  This are of the spinal cord needs more lanes in the highway than any other place.  Why?  Because this is where all of the traffic to and from your body merges.

If you’re experiencing even mild neck pain, this means that some type of stress is irritating the nerves in the neck.  Sadly, this irritation reduces the number of lanes in your highway.  As a result, there’s a traffic jam.  Of course, when there’s a traffic jam due to an accident, fewer signals can get through.  Additionally, they get through much slower.

Chiropractic Can Help

However, the good news is that chiropractic can help “clear the accident” to get the nerve traffic flowing completely and at full speed.  At Redmond Ridge Nutrition & Chiropractic we take a comprehensive approach to your neck problems, because we realize your minor neck pain has serious consequences.  We combine precise low force or traditional spinal corrections with home exercises, massage therapy and sometimes enzyme nutrition.  This “clears the accident” as quickly and completely as possible so your whole body works properly.
