Insomnia? Try improving gut health. Research from a top neuroscience journal published in January of 2017 showed that if you improve your gut health, you can improve your sleep. This study was so ground-breaking that “Frontiers in Behavior Neuroscience” published the article.
Less Sleep, Shorter Life
For starters did you know that insomnia taxes your immune system the exact same way an infection does? So, if you compromise your immune system through sleep deprivation, what happens when you catch a cold? You’ve basically overwhelmed your immune system. As a result, your immune system cannot keep up with demand. However, there are many other long-term effects to sleep deprivation, including a shorter life span. In fact, studies exist to back this up.
So just what are all of the complications of staying up too late? For starters, did you know that driving while tired is about the same as driving with a 0.10 blood alcohol level?
