Hip Pain may be from poor diet

Your hip pain may be from poor nutrition.  Do you suffer from hip pain?  Do you have a history of arthritis or osteoporosis?  Or perhaps you suffer from other bone or tooth problems.  Do you have trouble sleeping, or suffer from restlessness?  These are signs that your hip pain my in fact be due to poor nutrition.

Did you know that your hip pain may be from poor nutrition?  Hip problems are very common in the U.S. today.  While there are a variety of great ways to take care of injuries, few realize that your hip pain may not be from physical stress. In fact it could be due to poor nutrition, or an imbalance in your nervous system.  While chiropractic, physical therapy and other treatments are great for hip problems which are physical in nature, when your hip pain comes from nutritional problems, these treatments fall short.

Common Signs

So how can you tell if your hip pain is from a physical injury or due to nutritional stress?  Sadly, many people just like you only find this out after a battery of physical interventions such as physical therapy and chiropractic.  Once again, to be clear, those treatments are great if you suffer from a mechanical problem.   Because of this, I listed some signs that may point to nutritional problems:

  1. History of arthritis, osteoporosis, bone spurs, or other bone and tooth problems
  2. Loose teeth or poor fitting dentures
  3. Hyper-irritability, insomnia, and/or restlessness
  4. History of Chronic low back pain
  5. Fallen Arches
  6. Weak joints, or unstable ligaments

If you had blood work done you may possibly find low calcium, low total protein and low albumin.  A 24 hour urine analysis might reveal low calcium with an excessive alkaline pH.

How can you Tell?

Often times this can be a sign of a calcium and vitamin D deficiency.  However, it is crucial to get your calcium from your diet, not from supplements.  It could also be a sign of  inadequate protein or fat intake.  If you are eating enough of these essential nutrients, it may be your body has trouble digesting, absorbing or using protein, fats or calcium.  It’s important to remember that your body uses protein to carry calcium.  Because of this, a “calcium deficiency” may actually be a protein problem.
