Why is a healthy liver important? How many readers owned a fish tank at some point in their lives? Do you remember what was necessary to maintain it? You had to perform regular water changes, and replace the filter contents. Why? The fish need healthy water to survive and be healthy. The problem is that all of the waste products from the fish go right into the water they live in. If you don’t maintain the fish tank through water and filter changes, the water becomes toxic. As a result, the fish cannot survive.
Your body is made up of trillions of cells. Those cells are like the fish in your fish tank. Your liver is your filter. However, unlike your filter, you cannot change the media. If your “filter” cannot keep up with the toxic load on your body, then the toxins back up into the body. They can back up into either blood stream and/or the digestive system. This is because there are only two ways into the liver. The first way is from the blood stream. The second is from the digestive tract. The result can be twofold.
If toxins backup into the blood it can lead to allergies, autoimmune disease, a compromised immune system, chronic inflammation, chronic pain, and bloating. If they back up into the digestive tract they can lead to bowel toxicity which leads to constipation or possible infection. Most importantly it can increase the risk of breast cancer in women.
It’s important to detoxify the liver slowly. We don’t want to open the flood gates to allow too many toxins through the liver at once. First of all, the side effects can be quite uncomfortable. Second of all, it will put a heavy load on the liver. The liver may not be able to handle such a heavy load. Enzyme nutrition can safely and effectively support healthy liver detoxification and healthy liver function.
If you suffer from allergies, chronic pain, inflammation or bloating, and nothing has helped, give us a call and set up a consultation. We will take the time to sit down and talk with you about your suffering. We will even do some preliminary testing to determine if you are a good candidate for care. If you’re not, we will make every effort to find an appropriate referral.
