RoundUp causes cancer?  In fact as of this year, there are over 800 lawsuits against a major food company for causing cancer.  These cases allege that a chemical called glyphosate is the cause. So what exactly is it?  It’s a popular weed killer.  Have you ever heard of RoundUp?   While other companies also use this controversial chemical, RoundUp pioneered it.  Meanwhile, the company that makes RoundUp states there is no risk.  In fact they claim there are over 800 worldwide studies showing no connection between their products and cancer.

However, The World Health Organization’s International Agency for Research on Cancer begs to differ.  They stated that glyphosate is “probably carcinogenic to humans.”  This means that it can lead to cancer.  In fact, the report states that there is evidence for this herbicide to cause non Hodgkin lymphoma.

The evidence comes from studies in the USA, Canada, and Sweden.  The studies are ongoing  since 2001. In addition, there is convincing evidence that glyphosate also can cause cancer in laboratory animals.  This report spurred hundreds of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma patients to take legal action.

Diabetic Kidney Disease and Enzymes

Diabetic Kidney Disease and Enzymes – Did you know that people with diabetes are more likely to suffer kidney disease?  When there is too much sugar in the blood stream, your kidneys work too hard trying to filter it out.  Over time, this takes its toll on your kidneys leading to disease and eventually failure.  However research shows that certain enzymes may help restore kidney health in these cases.

In fact, this research comes from the October 25 issue of Journal of Clinical Investigation.  In the study, researchers stimulated the mitochondria.  The mitochondria is essentially the “power house of the cell”.  They did this  by activating a key energy sensing enzyme called AMPK, superoxide.  When they did this, diabetic kidney disease markedly declined.  So how do you increase your AMPK levels?  You can boost beneficial AMPK activity through simple lifestyle changes.  These include weight loss and exercise.

We can Help

In fact, while I don’t treat diseases, I can support a body the works properly.  This includes support for health kidney function, sugar metabolism, and body composition.  I provide this support with a specific plan. And this plan usually includes custom dietary changes and the correct enzyme supplements. Of course I only make recommendations after scientific testing based on sound medical principles.  With over 30 years of experience, we can even help you develop an exercise program.  Of course we can also provide specific enzyme supplements to support healthy kidney function.

Are you concerned about kidney health? Do you spend hours or days at home waiting for your problems to subside? Are you missing out on work family or fun? If so, give us a call and set up a consultation. I will personally sit down with you and talk about your suffering and how it affects your life. I will even do some preliminary testing as well as Bio Impedance Analysis (BIA). In fact did you know that both NASA and Cancer Treatment Centers of America rely on BIA? These tests help me determine if you are a good candidate for care. If you’re not, we’ll make every effort to provide the proper referral.

Parkinson’s Disease and Digestive Health

Parkinson’s Disease and Digestive Health – Parkinson’s disease (PD) is a long term disease that progresses over time.  While it is not life threatening, it severely impacts your active lifestyle.  New research shows that this disease may start in the gut.

Parkinson’s Disease and Digestive Health.  About 50,000 Americans suffer from PD each year.  At the same time, it affects more than half a million Americans at any given time.  However brand new cutting edge research shows that it may start in the gut.  According to a study published in the April 26, 2017, issue of Neurology, preliminary evidence shows that PD may start in the gut.  Neurology is the medical journal of the American Academy of Neurology.  In fact the research came out in April of 2017.

The connection comes from a very important nerve called the vagus nerve.  The vagus nerve extends from the brain stem to the abdomen and controls unconscious body processes like heart rate and food digestion.  The research continues stating there is yet other evidence supporting this.  People with PD often suffer from digestive problems such as constipation.  These issues often start decades before they develop the disease. In addition, other studies have shown that people who will later develop Parkinson’s disease have a special protein.  Experts believe this protein plays a key role in Parkinson’s disease in their gut.  The research suggests that the connection lies with the vagus nerve, although they do not understand how or why.  The study is also clearly states that they need to do more studies to confirm the findings and figure out the how and why.

Our Approach to Digestive Support

Weight Loss Takes Effort…

Weight Loss takes effort, there are no magic pills.  Obesity is on the rise in America.  Sadly, according to the CDC, it is the number one cause of most chronic diseases today.  These ailments include diabetes, cardiovascular disease, cancer, and many more.

There’s no two ways about it.  Weight loss takes effort.  And while big pharma is scrambling for drugs to “treat it”, and the supplement industry makes a fortune on it, there’s no magic pill.  Just so you’re aware, the drug tycoons are going to classify obesity as a disease.  And while this sounds like a good thing, there are sinister plans behind it.  You see, once something is classified as a disease, only big phrama can claim to treat it.  So they are trying to create an unethical monopoly on weight loss.

Practical Advice

However, here are some key things for you and your family to support healthy body mass (just in case).  For those of you who already read my articles, this first one will come as no surprise.  It’s your mind set.  Instead of thinking “I really should lose weight,” start thinking “I am working towards healthy body mass.”   That by itself changes your mind set from “want” to “do”.  By the same token instead of thinking “I don’t have the time,” change it to “I am making the time to get healthy.”

After that, get out your planner.  Make time for health.  Build exercise time and diet review into your schedule.  If something’s important, you put it on your calendar.  If it’s not, you don’t.  Sadly, you and I both know that if it’s not on your calendar chances are you won’t do it.

Use Technology and your Team

Next, get a phone app to track you’re eating.  Some phones even have built in apps already.  This makes changing what you eat and how much much easier.  But I do have to caution you.  Slow gradual changes will last longer than sudden drastic changes.  Your body will also adapt to them much easier.

Learn to delegate.  There are lots of experts out there.  Hire a team of people to help you stay on course with diet, exercises and elimination of unhealthy habits.  If you like to watch TV, why not do it on a treadmill, bike or elliptical trainer?  Or cut your TV time 30 minutes and exercise 30 minutes.  That time away from the “tube” will reduce your stress which by itself can lead to weight loss.  By the way, can we still call them “tubes”?

Understand there is no magic pill.  Even I use enzyme nutrition to support healthy body mass, but only with the right lifestyle changes.  In fact, when I do a consultation, I will not take someone on as a patient if they’re not willing to make lifestyle changes.  Why?  Because I don’t want you to spend your hard earned money on something I know won’t work.

If you need Help

While I don’t treat diseases (including obesity – assuming it gets classified as such), I can help support healthy body mass and composition.  I accomplish this through a customized exercise program, dietary coaching, and the right enzyme supplements. Remember that healthy body mass is not just something you attain to look better, it helps you live a longer higher quality life.  It also drastically lowers the risk of many deadly diseases.

Are you concerned about your body mass?  Does it affect your job, family or fun? Are you worried about the long term affects?  If so, give us a call and set up a consultation. I will personally sit down with you and talk about your suffering and how it affects your life. I will even do some preliminary testing as well as Bio Impedance Analysis (BIA). In fact did you know that both NASA and Cancer Treatment Centers of America rely on BIA? These tests help me determine if you are a good candidate for care. If you’re not, we’ll make every effort to provide the proper referral.

Sleep – Are You Getting Enough?

Are You Getting Enough Sleep?  According to the CDC, less than 35% of Americans get enough Sleep.  So how much sleep should you get?  The CDC recommends a MINIMUM of  7 hours a night.

Check out our radio show – Thursdays 4-5PM

or on a radio app from your smart device

… Are you kidding me?  I don’t have time for 7 hours of deep bed rest sleep every night!  At least, that’s what you’re thinking, right?  But let me ask you this.  Please read this article.  Learn about all the health problems that come from lack of this crucial activity.  Then ask yourself: “Can I afford not to get enough sleep each night?”  So what?  I didn’t get enough sleep.  How bad can it be?  Well let me tell you just what’s at stake. Lack of bed-rest can compromise both your emotional and physical health.  Sadly, this also has steep ramifications for your work life, too.

Lack of Sleep & the Workplace

If you’re at work, look around.  Who did you decide to avoid today?  Why?  Are they in a bad mood?  Well, it may be that person didn’t get enough “sack time” last night.  Or worse, maybe the last few nights.  In fact, Research conducted by Laura M. Giurge at Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University in the Netherlands, found that even one night of too little sleep may lead to unwanted behavior at work the next day.  The study concluded that lack of bed rest may weaken a person’s self-control.  This leads to destructive behavior.  In fact it can even lead to thievery at the workplace.  According to the Rotterdam School of Management, employees’ “misbehaving” at work adds up to the about $200 billion a year in the U.S. alone.

Children Suffer Too, Even Years Later

Do you know a child that excessively acts out?  Research shows lack of sleep may be the cause.  However, research also shows sleep deprivation can have serious repercussions later on in life. Researchers at Massachusetts General Hospital for Children in Boston used evaluations conducted a study involving over 1,000 children.

While bed rest duration between the ages of 6 months and 2 years was not linked to later behavior, sleep at ages 3 to 4 was. Those who slept less than 10 hours a day at age 3 or 4 had lower scores on executive function and behavior at age 7. Likewise, 5- to 7-year-olds who slept for nine hours a night or less also had lower scores.  “Insufficient sleep in the preschool and early school years is associated with poorer behavior in mid-childhood,” the researchers concluded.

Cutting Rest for work has the opposite effect

In addition to leading to obesity, many diseases, and premature death, sleep also makes you less productive.  In fact, keep that in mind when you’re working on something late at night instead of going to bed.  The next day will more than negate that extra hour or two of work you did last night instead of going to bed. Many research projects show that lack of sleep will adversely affect many aspects of workplace performance.  According to research published in Sleep Medicine Reviews, here are just a few: excess absenteeism, more accidents at work, decreased productivity, lack of career progression, and lower job satisfaction.

Nutrition and Sleep

Of course the problem is that once you get into the habit of sleep deprivation, it’s difficult to change.  However, the proper nutrition can help.

And while I don’t diagnose or treat any disease (including insomnia), I can help support a healthy sleep cycle.  I provide this support with a specific plan. And this plan usually includes custom dietary changes and the correct enzyme supplements. Of course I only make recommendations after scientific testing based on sound medical principles.

Are you concerned about your sleep cycle?  Does it affect your job, family or fun? If so, give us a call and set up a consultation. I will personally sit down with you and talk about your suffering and how it affects your life. I will even do some preliminary testing as well as Bio Impedance Analysis (BIA).
