New Research Shows Proper Enzymes Boost Testosterone Levels

Proper Enzymes Boost Testosterone Levels.  OK, if you’re an avid reader of this publication you probably know I often get on my soap box about enzyme nutrition.  But why?  This is because there are several fundamental crucial facts about enzymes.  First of all, they are the only substance in the body capable of actually doing work.  Secondly, as you age your own body loses the ability to produce these vital enzymes.  In fact your enzyme production declines up to 70% by age 40.  Lastly, enzymes are the forgotten key.  While supplements are all the rage right now they are no different from the food you eat and REQUIRE ENZYMES so your body can properly use them.

Enzymes and Testosterone

Some amazing new research comes from a study published in the American Journal of Physiology – Regulatory, Integrative and Comparative Physiology.  In fact it is quite recent.  It was published in December 2016.  This break through research revealed a specific enzyme that boosts testosterone levels.  But again this comes as no surprise as your body requires enzymes for every chemical reaction.  In the study scientists at the University of Illinois explored the impact of a specific enzyme on testosterone levels.

They also studied the impact of this enzyme on testosterone sensitive tissues. They specifically focused on the prostate.  So basically researchers compared prostate function and testosterone metabolism in test subjects in the study.  These subjects lacked the gene necessary to make this specific enzyme.  The findings suggest that the loss of this enzyme decreases androgen production.   Androgen, of course, is the precursor to testosterone.  Lack of this enzyme also prevents prostate growth.  A senior author John W. Erdman Jr. also confirmed this.  He is a professor emeritus of nutrition and food science at Illinois. This study confirms that proper enzymes boost testosterone levels.

How we can Help

Would you like more energy?  Are you trying to start a family?  Are you slowly losing muscle mass?  If you need help with any of these issues, please give us a call and set up a consultation.  We will take the time to sit down and talk with you about your concerns.  We’ll even do some preliminary testing to see where you are and if you are a good candidate for care.  If you are, we will put a plan in place to support healthy hormone function.  We accomplish this through testing based on sound scientific principles.
